Buy tungsten electrodes for TIG welding

TIG electrodes in all common types and diameters — from stock.

Tungsten electrodes are at the heart of TIG welding. Depending on the alloy (colour code) they suit different materials and current types. We stock the common grades in various diameters and lengths — also in small quantities.

Frequently asked questions about tungsten electrodes

Which tungsten electrode for which material?

Roughly: WL15 (gold) and WC20 (grey) are universal for AC and DC. WP (green) for aluminium on AC, WT20 (red) classically for steel on DC. When in doubt, the universal grades are the safe choice.

What do the colour codes mean?

The colour code identifies the alloy / oxide additive. It is standardised (DIN EN ISO 6848) and marked on the electrode.

Which diameters are available?

Common diameters from 1.0 to 4.0 mm, standard length 175 mm. Current sizes in the product list.
